Add a home battery to your solar.
A home battery for evening use and outages, sized to your rate plan.
A home battery stores midday solar for the evening, when California rates peak and NEM 3.0 pays little for exports. We check whether it pays on your rate plan, size it for the backup you want, and coordinate the install.
Batteries and a legacy NEM rateWhat shapes the design
- Your rate plan and usage times
- Solar production and equipment compatibility
- Essential circuits or whole-home backup
- Cost and financing
What the design decides.
Use more solar
Midday solar charges the battery for the evening. Savings depend on your rates.
Plan the backup
Choose the circuits that matter. Runtime depends on their load and the battery capacity.
Choose the equipment
Tesla Powerwall 3 is what we quote most: 13.5 kWh usable, 11.5 kW continuous output. Other brands are available through our installers.
Before you decide.
Can I add a battery without more panels?
Yes, battery-only retrofits are routine. If your panels already cover your usage, a battery keeps the power you’d otherwise export for very little.
Can you add a battery to a system you didn’t install?
Yes, to virtually any existing system, including Enphase microinverter and SolarEdge inverter systems. We check your equipment, electrical panel, and utility agreement first. Licensed partners install.
Will a battery run my whole home?
It will if it’s designed to. We size essential-load or whole-home backup and tell you how long your chosen circuits run.
Will it lower my bill?
On time-of-use rates, yes. You store power when it’s cheap and use it when rates spike. If the math doesn’t work for your home, we tell you.
